Grand Opening

The overdue cakes are some of the most precious treasures in my life.

One may find amusement in a new cake; but it is the old cakes with the thick layer of mold that one can fall cushioned in times of frustration and hardship.

Old cake with real mold

Yes, in Dubai, right before Christmas in the office.

It's a gift from the owner to all the tenants, en mass, so the QC was a bit weak. When the girl came by my seats to deliver my piece of the Christmas cake, i looked and pointed at the green fluffy patches on the cake. She claimed it was the design... oookay... but i threw away (discreetly) my piece and warned my colleagues to "eat at your own risk".

Later on, after most people finished 3/4 of their cake, official announcement came to notify everyone not to eat the cake because there's mold in it. Right. I guess they'll savour the cake throughout the season... in the comfort of their home toilet...

No one sue them????

But obviously you've been so experienced dealing with old cakes that you can identify real mold from spiritual mold :P

Good on ya!
